How the Re-Entry Transitional Support Program Works
Re-entry support begins before a person leaves custody and continues as they rebuild stability in the community. The program pairs people returning from incarceration with resources and volunteers so the transition can happen at a healthy pace. Before Release: Through our partner prison outreach program, Freedom Overground, re-entry services start while a person is still incarcerated, so planning and connection to resources can begin early. After Release: Once a person returns to the community, the program connects them with trauma and drug recovery resources, safe housing support, continued education guidance, and job readiness training, alongside partnering organizations and volunteers.
